This project, located in the northern suburb, is an investment initiative focused on maximizing returns through subdivision and thoughtful planning to create a refined residential experience. The site has a significant slope difference from front to back, exceeding one floor height. To address this, we utilized a split-level design, allowing the building to cascade down the terrain and extend towards the street.
The separation between levels offers convenience for co-living families or multi-generation families. Each of the front and rear dwellings includes a secondary dwelling (Granny Flat), with both the main house and secondary dwelling having separate entry points and backyard access, ensuring privacy for the main residence while providing independent living conditions.
For the exterior, we aim to create a fresh and comfortable ambiance while controlling costs. We use simple forms and refined architectural lines to emphasize vertical and horizontal elements, considering their overall integration. The design combines contemporary tropical suburban villa aesthetics with Sydney's local Coastal and Hampton styles, featuring a light, refreshing color palette complemented by natural wood tones. This maintains a certain level of distinction while remaining in harmony with the local ecosystem and community environment. Dynamic louver elements on the façade offer flexibility for semi-indoor space usage and add dynamic features to the building's appearance.
